LINEN TEA TOWEL Ancient Plants in White Ink on Fine Stone-Grey Linen
The Ancient Plants design is printed in white ink on a fine pure stone-grey linen. This beautifully designed tea towel will bring a touch of elegance to your kitchen.
I print these distinctive tea towels in Somerset, cutting and sewing the linen, making each one individually. They make unique gifts with designs of foliage, trees or birds found locally. Linen is expensive; however, it is a long lasting and enduring fabric, becoming more beautiful with age and use, and it is one of the most naturally produced and sustainable textiles we can use.
These ancient plants all have their particular meanings and can be found mentioned as long ago as in the bible. Flax for simplicity and practicality; Lily of the Valley for purity and the sorrow of Mary; Thistle for determination against adversity; Rose of Sharon for love, beauty and healing and Hyssop for cleansing.
This design originated from an exciting collaboration with clients who wanted to fundraise for their village church, St Mary the Virgin, Burrough-on-the Hill in Leicestershire. Each purchase made with this design raises funds for the church’s restoration.
The unique design is hand-printed using environmentally friendly inks and the image is screen-printed onto pure linen and can be washed at 30 degrees.
