Working with wire is a very therapeutic activity, where we create images from our minds into 3D forms. In the workshops we will be working with plants and flowers, real and imagined, recreating them in wire. One of the most attractive parts of wire forms are the shadows cast in sunlight or at night by lamplight. No previous experience or knowledge is required to become immersed in the creative activity of working with wire in these workshops.
In these workshops, stems of flowers and plants are created, along with grasses, and held in a wooden block, creating a section of a hedgerow.
This can be as dense or as sparse as preferred. Placed against or near a pale wall, the shadows cast will form intricate shapes giving another dimension to the piece.
DATES:
TUESDAY 17 SEPTEMBER 1.30 - 5.30
TUESDAY 29 OCTOBER 1.30 - 5.30
TUESDAY 12 NOVEMBER 1.30 - 5.30
