​An Introduction to Screen-printing
Workshop 

To create a print with a screen, the process takes several stages. In this introduction, participants will use an already prepared screen for a hands-on experience of screen printing. This is an ideal workshop for anyone wishing to get a taste of screen printing, without having to create their own artwork. 

Participants will learn about creating a screen, mixing printing inks, printing with more than one colour, planning the layout of the design on the fabric and printing it. 

At the end of the workshop you will be able to take away your own printed tea towel. 

The workshop will take approximately 3 hours. Please bring an apron to protect your clothes while printing.

Cost: This workshop is for a minimum of 2 people and costs £40 per person.

Intermediate Screen-printing 
Workshop

This workshop gives participants a more complete experience of screen-printing. Not only will you learn about the basic principles of printing with a screen, but you will also create a screen, with your own design.  At the end of the workshop you will be able to take your screen with you and continue printing at home. 

Participants will learn about how to make their own screens, mix printing inks, learn how to print with more than one colour, plan the layout of the design on the fabric and print it. 

The workshop will take approximately 5 hours and at the end of it you will be able to take away a printed tea towel.

On the day, you will need to bring an apron to protect your clothes while printing, the design you will be using on your screen (more details about the design you create (size etc) can be discussed on enquiry or when booking) and your packed lunch.

Cost:  £140 (screen included) for one person
          £180 (screens included) for two people.

These workshops are suitable for 1 or 2 people, as space is limited for printing in the studio. 
Bookings are available on weekdays and weekends.

KATE WESTCOTT - BACKGROUND IN SCREEN-PRINTING
I first learnt to screen-print at school. The method was simple and I was captivated with the concept of being able to reproduce a design on fabric or paper. I experimented with printing in different colours and working with more than one screen. I loved being able to create another larger design through repeating one print in different layouts.

After moving house and building a studio, I returned to screen printing 12 years ago. I experience the same joy printing today, as I did with the print of my first design. 

I print on linen, cotton and paper; I experiment constantly with colours and different designs, and try and bring my printed designs into our home as much as I can.
